When applying for Adsense for your YouTube do not use a new Adsense you have just setup via Adsense.com. Only set up a new Adsense via the YouTube console itself. There are 2 different types of Adsense accounts and YouTube only one and a website one.

If you apply via YouTube and get accepted you will have a YouTube-only account, , you can use this to connect to a website at a later date. (as you are only allowed one AdSense account) But if you go and try and set up a regular AdSense and add your website and connect your YouTube channel at the same time this will cause issues. If your Adsense website is rejected then your youtube adsense will fail.

I recently tried to change my personal Adsense to a business Adsense and it didn’t go well. I set up a new one on Adsense.com and added my website (which had previously been on Adsense) and then tried to connect my YouTube. So both would be processed together… well so I thought.

As per the YouTube email I received, so if the main Adsense gets declined does the YouTube aspect AdSense and you have to review them again.

• Duplicate accounts: You can only have one AdSense account. If you’re found to have a duplicate account you’ll have to decide whether to use your existing account to monetize your channel or to cancel it.
• Website Issue: To monetize a YouTube channel, you’ll need to complete your AdSense sign-up directly from YouTube Studio. Do not create a new account from the AdSense website using a URL unless you intend to monetize that site.

Nuclear Option

There is a way to restart the process. It’s a nuclear way of doing it but may speed things up. This method would involve deleting your Adsense and payments profile in your Google account and then heading over to the Step 2 error section and creating a new Adsense. Please be mindful that Adsense only allows a new account to be associated every 32 days.

My current hope is to use the YouTube support system and log a support case to get the internal team to fix this issue for us. I have a case ID and I’m praying they can do something on their side to fix this annoying issue.
