If you are getting the “Unable to Load Persistent Data” Error in Battlefield 2042 then you need to follow the steps below.
Initially, it seemed to be caused by some issue on the EA servers, but these two steps should help fix the issue. It did work for me anyway!
So first off make sure you reboot your console and do a hard reset. If this works then happy days… If not try the next step below.
You want to go into your game settings and disable cross-play! It is that simple, as soon as I did that I was able to play the game!
UPDATE
Try clearing the cache and any saved data from the beta or early access, and turn off cross-play still to reduce the chances of it occurring again. It seems crazy that in 2024 this issue is still occurring!
